PRODUCT TYPE : TOP MACHINABILITY ON GREY IRONS
DESCRIPTION : CI 212
APPLICATIONS : Ideal for repairing very thin or eroded sections of cast iron without undercut or cracking. Used where ultimate machinability is a factor.
MICROSTRUCTURE : Austenitic nickel with finely distributed graphite flakes
CHARACTERISTICS: Pulsed arc pure nickel electrode for low temperature welding of cast iron. Good for joining thin walled cast iron sections without undercut or cracking. Excellent control in all positions.
The soft arc avoids excessive dilution, hard spots and minimize the heat affected zone. Weld deposits are extremely soft and machinable due to low heat input and minimal dilution. Some Ni-hard parts have been successfully repaired using CI 212
WELDING TECHNIQUES : The arc gap should be as short as feasible. Move in direction of travel
according to the rate of alloy flow.
