DURAMETAL"S 666X"a super low hydrogen electrode for structural steels

PRODUCT TYPE : A SUPER LOW HYDROGEN ELECTRODE FOR STRUCTURAL STEELS

DESCRIPTION : S 666X

APPLICATIONS : Excellent weldability in all positions giving x-ray quality welds for original equipment manufacturing or repair work. For joining and repairing boiler plate, pipe steels, shipbuilding steels and cast steels.

MICROSTRUCTURE : In the stress – relieved condition the microstructure consists of acicular ferrite with some tempered bainite

CHARACTERISTICS: Easy strike and extremely smooth – spatter and turbulence free arc transfer eliminates many problems of low hydrogen welding. Coating is totally non-conductive. Unusually good AC welding characteristics. Semi-flexible coating allows slight bending of the electrode. LLYODS APPROVED 3YH

WELDING TECHNIQUES : Remove all surface contaminants. Maintain a short arc gap and use a stringer or slight weave technique. Chip slag thoroughly between passes.

DURAMETAL"S 688 EX1"problem steel

PRODUCT TYPE : THE ULTIMATE ELECTRODE FROM DURA-METAL FOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR WELDING OF ALL STEELS WHEN MAXIMUM SECURITY IS EXPECTED WELDING TECHNIQUES

DESCRIPTION : S 688 EX1

APPLICATIONS : Due to exceptional strength and crack resistance, it is ideal for repairing tools, dies, spring steel, high tensile, axles, shafts, crack sensitive alloy steels and any dissimilar or unknown steel grades combinations. It is also recommended for repairing worn parts and as an underlay prior hardfacing.

TYPICAL CHEMISTRY :

MICROSTRUCTURE : A duplex austenite / ferrite structure with about 40% ferrite.

CHARACTERISTICS : Stable arc and low heat input electrode. No spatter, superior control and stability weld. Heat, impact, corrosion and friction resistant. Low heat input minimize changes to the base metal and its special flux formulation eliminates slag inference in horizontal fillets. Produces high bond strength and excellent quality weld.

WELDING TECHNIQUES : The area in which the weld is to be made should be free of rust, grease, paint and other materials which cause weld contamination. A 90ยบ vee joint should be used when joining heavy sections. Maintain a short arc length and use stringer beads.
