GUARDIAN INSULATING SPRAY pigmented insulating varnish.

Description : 

INSULATING SPRAY is an isophthalic alkyd anti-tracking, air drying pigmented insulating varnish formulated specifically to coat, impregnate and insulate electrical and electronic works and components. Quick air drying with excellent adhesion to metals, windings and coils. Able to withstand acids, alkalis, oils and moisture. Dielectric strength of up to 2,100 volts per mil.
Available in clear and red colour.

Applications : 

INSULATING SPRAY can be used as a primary insulating varnish on small coil and transformers where impregnation with stoving varnish is not desired. It is also highly recommended for motor windings, commutator ends, sealing electrical and electronic components, field coils, armatures, stator windings, ring and frames, bus bars and switchboard parts etc.

Instructions

1. Surface must be free from grease, rust, dirt, and wax.
2. To use in well-ventilated areas only.
3. Shake can well for 30 seconds before use.
4. Spray about 25 – 30 cm away from surface.
5. Move can with short “dusting” strokes, allowing the insulating spray to become tacky between light mist coats.
6. To avoid possible clogging, turn the can upside down and spray until only clear gas comes out.

GUARDIAN INSULATING VARNISH (CLASS ‘F’) solvented isophthalic alkyd varnish

Description : 

INSULATING VARNISH (CLASS ‘F’) is a solvented isophthalic alkyd varnish specifically formulated for durable chemical resistant finishing with excellent electrical properties.
Applications : Widely used in turbo generators, industrial machines, electrical motors, power transformers, high and low voltage switchgears, motor control, gear and rewinders etc.

Advantages :

• Rapid air-drying in thin film. Can be stored up to 80^oC
• Continuous working up to 155^oC (Class F)
• Compatible with most normal insulation systems.
• Tough, flexible, anti-tracking finish, resistant to oil and moisture. Resistant to alkali, acids, solvents, transformer oils etc.
• Versatile : Air-drying for coils, windings, insulating boards,mouldings etc. Self fluxing printed circuit board varnish.

Instructions

1. Can be applied by brushing, dipping, or spraying.
2. Curing time : 60 minutes @ 55^oC, 20 minutes @ 80^oC

Note : when spraying, ensure adequate ventilation.

GUARDIAN INSULATING VARNISH (CLASS ‘H’) solvented modified isophthalic varnish

Description : 

INSULATING VARNISH (CLASS ‘H’) is a solvented modified isophthalic varnish with long term tank stability and a thermal rating of 180⁰C . Has excellent penetration and combines flexibility with high bond strength capabilities.
Applications : An ideal impregnant for all kinds of stators, armatures, and transformers where excellent surface finish quality is required. Is compatible with most types of insulation products and systems.

Instructions

1. INSULATING VARNISH (CLASS ‘H’)  is suitable for impregnation using components are ambient temperature or pre-heated. If components are pre-heated, precaution should be taken to ensure that the varnish is not exposed to temperature above 40oC. This will ensure excellent penetration whilst minimizing solvent loss from the tank.
2. Development of bond strength is a function of both curing temperature and time. Relatively low curing temperature of 130-140⁰C  at duration of approximately 4 – 6 hours may be sufficient if bond strength is not of prime importance e.g. in small transformers and fractional h.p. motors. 

For applications where windings will be expected to withstand harsh chemical environments or to endure high mechanical stress factors on for example, high speed armatures, traction machines, stators of large industrial motors or high output units such as 2 pole motors, curing temperature of at least 160⁰C  at duration of approximately 16 hours should be used.

Instructions :

To clean :
1. Spray liberally approximately 12 – 18 cm away from surface to be treated.
2. Allow to penetrate for a few minutes.
3. Wash, wipe or scrub surface clean. DO NOT use wire brush that might create sparks and ignite residual oil, grease, or any other combustible products.

To check for acid :
1. Spray on surface or material to be checked.
2. BATTERY GUARD will turn brilliant blue if acid is present.

To neutralise :
1. Spray liberally on contaminated surface or material.
2. Allow to remain for several minutes and then wipe using clean cloth.
3. Repeat spray to detect any remaining acid contamination and repeat treatment as necessary.

To protect :
1. Spray a light coating of BATTERY GUARD and allow to remain on surface to be protected.

Instructions :
